hips don't lie

Being limited to only sleeping on my left or right side and mostly my left, by 2-3 a.m. my hips are killing me from lying on them. I use a pillow between my knees and occasionally use my pregnancy pillow but no relief. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

Pregnancy pillow helps, the snoogy I believe it is called, the cheapest one is $65/80.00. Also its perfectly fine to go see a chiropractor, I got one a week, and he aligns my hips and works on my back as well. It's been the only real relief for me, I've got 56 days left, sleep is a precious commodity at this point, insomnia is heinous for me these days, either side to side turning all night, with crsxy vivid.nightmares or drrMs, or slim to no sleep... I just remind myself, 56 days left.. the countdown struggle is real!

Check with your OB if you haven't already, but mine told me I can sleep on my 'back', but to prop myself up at enough of an angle so that my weight isn't on my back (about 30-45 degrees). I've done this with both my pregnancies and it helps. I end up rolling to one side or another throughout the night, and then back to my angled back position for relief. I have an extensive hip injury from a car wreck 6 years ago, so my sciatic pain is excruciating. Bengay is safe for pregnancy, so if you don't mind smelling like a peppermint Lifesaver, then it's worth a shot. I hate chemicals and medicines during pregnancy, but you and your little houseguest need quality sleep! One last thing, when I'm on my side, putting 2 thick pillows between my knees elevates the upper knee higher than my hip and causes my legs to be at an angle where my ankles/feet to touch. This angle is helpful as I get bigger (I'm 24 weeks). If nothing else, take comfort knowing you are not alone at all!

I do about 30 minutes of hip and leg stretches every night before bed. If I miss a day sleep is horrible. So the stretching really helps but I wake up and I'm back in the same situation. My lower back hips and butt kill me all day long. But at least I can sleep! Someone just gave me one of those huge horseshoe shaped pillows. I slept on it for the first time last night and slept like a baby! I'm 25 weeks.

Pregnancy pillow. A little pricey but they really do help. The only way I have hip pain now is if I move off my pillow at night!

I get so much hip pain only left side but it's so painful. Sleeping sitting up does help but just feels weird. The
pillow between my legs makes it worse for me.  With my last child (2nd) yoga helped completely and stretching before bed. This time (3rd), no luck. I'm still working out which helps some but not really. I had a massage the first time it helped out so much but not the second. Depending on how far you are the baby can really sit on your nerves  and put pressure making it painful. With my first I developed sciatica that was so painful and you just have to wait it out.

Sleep sitting up. I sleep in a recliner or the sofa for relief. It really helps. Good luck ladies!

Yes and back pain as well. I use a pillow too between my knees. 2 weeks to go and  I have just sadly accepted that it isn't going to get better:( I find that shifting often is the only relief. Good luck!
