Thank you, rainbowgoblin I have to go this Thursday to discuss which one I want to do.  I have been a lil confused. My son is over 8lbs and I have alot of fluid I am almost 38 weeks and they want to put me in at 39 weeks. So I guess I will go w the c section...I figured id end up with an emergency any way.

Normally it's considered safe at 37 weeks. 38 is usually considered full term. But I wouldn't recommend choosing an induction. I had an induction that ended in Caesarean 10 months ago... The induction was truly horrible. At one point the syntocin drip was shut off for my epidural, and I got to feel what natural contractions were like. In contrast, they were totally manageable. Given the choice between an elective Caesarean and an induction, I'd choose the C-section!

If it's not an emergency, it's best to keep baby baking.  Plus, more than half of all inductions end in c section.
