Poor baby...sorry to hear about baby. When my daughter was that age i used to put baby vicks on her feet with some socks, used a humidifier and added peppermint oil and eucalyptus to the water, also before I had heard of nose Frieda I would suck the mucus out of my daughters nose and spit it out...grosse but it helped. The other thing i would do is put vicks on my chest and then layer with a mock neck so that none would get on my daughter while i held her...but it helped her to breathe easily. Also, I know that it won't help now but once baby gets 6 weeks and ever gets a cold again ...highlands make a disolvable tablet cold remedy thats natural for babies and melts in seconds but it is super awesome and works. I hope that something in here helps and that baby gets better in warp speed. Congrats on baby and best wishes.
No there are no meds you can give. You just keep suctioning. But anytime a newborn has cold symptoms and even a slight fever you need to call his doc. Esp with all the respiratory illnesses going around.
Call the doc and mention it. Hope he feels better.
