scolosis?? posted in Maternal & Child too.

I had the kids to their yearly check up today, and the doctor commented that Taylor's (my daughter who is 5) back was higher on one side then the other, slightly- you could barely see it...  she asked if scolosis ran in our family, I said "no", and asked if she was concerned,  she just said, a little and she wanted to see her back in 6 months....

is this something I should be worried about, or taking her to a specilist or something for?!

I've got it, "moderately severe".  Diagnosed in middle school, doctors considered a brace but I never actually had one.  Now @ 31 my back hurts occasionally but doesn't everyone's? = )

My 20 year old has had scoliosis for years now and we were told that they don't really do anything for it anymore. When I was in school (long time ago) my friend had it and they put her in a back brace. Now she walks like a straight stick, kind of like if you try to balance a book on your head...LOL!! anyway, I wouldn't worry. Sometimes my son's back bothers him but for the most part he's fine. Best of luck and try not to worry!!
