Not sure you can set yourself up to pass it, just some women don't produce enough insulin to balance out the higher sugar levels from horomones. If you can't then you'd need to steer clear of sugar and carbs.

Walking around during the test. that will help.but not 100% tho.

Make sure you fast for it. That usually will get you to pass.

Walking around during the test will increase your chance if failing

Gd has complications of still borns and very big babies, the baby won't be able to regulate their sugar if they r running high from u during the pregnancy. You should look into the complications then decide if you want to try to alter the outcome.

a lot of people do fail the first one I failed the first one as well! For the three hour one the day before don't eat anything after midnight ! No soda tea or anything with sugar ! Just water water water until your appointment, if your appointment is later in the after noon and you have to eat you can eat eggs and toast no jelly etc. I passed my first two hours of being there and they let you leave after that !

I had to fast 12 hours for both tests.
I Failed my first one by 8 points but passed my 3 hour test.

I have been told that the ranges of passing and failing can vary between doctors. Within a 10 point range. With my first pregnancy I passed the first one no prob, but with this one I failed the first one, but only slightly, for my drs office cut off. So I have to take the three hour now, but not too worried about passing it.

as other people have commented you do not want to "cheat" this tests. the complications of uncontrolled GD aren't good but well monitored and regulated have zero negative affects on baby or mom. just means your placenta is doing its job and creating all the right hormones to maintain your pregnancy and nourish your baby but sadly this means its interfering with your ability to produce enough insulin to control your sugar levels. pregnancy is a diabetic state naturally just some women's bodies can't keep up. ive done alot of reading on this topic as well as spoken about to my midwife and naturopathic dr because i was diagnosed with it this week. it was terribly upsetting and of course the first thing i did was blame myself but nothing you have done or didn't do caused it. it just happens to roughly 20% of all pregnant women. once i wrapped my head around that fact and was reassured that baby will be fine its alot easier to accept. best cause scenario if you are diagnosed with it is some changes in your diet and frequent exercise. (thats what im hoping for) but ill do whatever is right for my little bean so if that means insulin injections or other medication ill do it. Think of your baby even if you attempt to alter the results i really dont think there is anything you could do either you have it or you dont. good luck mama.

I was told to consume 150 carbs each day three days before taking the test... And fast for 12 hours... Don't eat or drink anything in those 12 hours and don't eat or drink anything the day of... I got to take water and drink that after taking the test, but I had to sip on it.. I passed the 3 hr.

@cseela14 im alittle confused and concerned you were allowed water.that can affect the results. you shouldn't have been allowed anything during the course of the test. if i were you i would consider redoing the test. Again its not a test you want to alter the results of. i hope you would still get the same results but better to be on the safe side.

I failed the 1 hr test and passed the 3 hr one. I had to fast before the second one but not before the 1 hr test which is most likely why I failed.

I don't know anything about the yest, but I'm a 20 year diabetic and pregnant with baby #2. Please be.more.concerned about the numbers and not cheating it to pass! The complications can be horrible to your baby! I have to test my sugar every few hours and give myself many shots a day to keep myself and my baby healthy. Uncontrolled blood sugars can do devastating harm to your baby. Good luck

For one, i was not intending to alter results. I am not trying to make anything any more risky than it is.. I drank just water before my 1hr test, and it was high, i felt weird on and off and only felt better once i could eat, and i ate a banana.... . i already poke myself once a day with blood thinners, soon to be twice a day once i hit 35weeks, i will be devastated if i have to check my blood five times a day like my mom did with my sister. I crave sweets all day long. But that does not mean that i wont do what i have to to provide a healthy environment for my baby! How dare some of you.

I am not saying i wont do this for my son, dont be nasty and jump to that conclusion. If theres something i did wrong to fail, i was asking what i should do to see if i can pass.. Geeze... This forum isnt for people to be judged and scalded, its for moms to help other moms and answer questions! If theres nothing i can do to pass it and i did nothing wrong and its out of my hands than fine! Thats all you have to say. Dont gotta be a nasty bit ch about it. God.

I AM THINKING OF MY CHILD! IF I DID SOMETHING WRONG AND THATS WHY I FAILED.. THEN I WANTED TO KNIW WHAT I COULD DO DIFFERENT SO THAT IF I AM TO PASS I WILL.. IF I FAIL THEN FINE, I WILL CROSS THAT BRIDGE WHEN I GET TO IT.. STOP ACTING LIKE I AM TRYING TO CHEAT OR ALTER MY DAM TEST!!! GEEZ O PETES YOU WOMEN ARE TRULY RUDE AND JUDGEMENTAL. I GUESS NEXT TIME I WILL HAVE TO BE PAINFULLY SPECIFIC IN WHAT I MEAN SO YOU IDIOTS DONT INSULT ME LIKE YOU HAVE. have a nice day... Even you rotten ones.

Marky I think it was the wording of your question. I think they are just taking it the wrong way.

My friend is pregnant and failed her first test. She took the 3 hr and passed fine. So just keep your fingers crossed for good vibes.

Even still. I shouldnt be worried about being judged.. Its ridiculous. Smh.. If i said..'i need to pass this test how can i fudge it up so i pass' or how can i cheat this test.. Then i could understand. No where did i say i wanted to alter my results and to assume someone would do that to their child is just unimaginable... But thats just my opinion i guess.. Its easy for people to think that of others thanks to this world we live in..

Before you go off calling people idiots you should look at your wording. You said how do I pass it. Since you failed it.

What else are you really asking with that statement? You don't do anything to "pass it" you take the test and follow the instructions they give you to do before hand.

Pretty simple.

Read my other previous statements.. Then ask what i was saying. I didnt say i was trying to alter it. I simply said i failed it, like i said. Next time ill be painfully obvious about what i mean for those people who want to accuse me of endangering my child.. Which is waay worse than being called an idiot. And for the record.. I wasnt told there were any instructions... I used common sense and didnt eat or drink anything but water before the test that morning.. I made sure to ask today before i go in tomorrow.. Yeah it is pretty simple when you know what youre doing... Rude ***! :-)

I failed my one hour, I fasted the whole day, the nurses told me I had to probably why I failed it! Took a 3 hour and passed it! From what I hear a lot of women fail the one and pass the 3 Good luck!

Lol I highly doubt that's what you meant. Just saying. Your just pissed becuase people were getting on you and decided to throw a little tantrum and switch your story around. To each their own. oh and no need for name calling when you plainly couldn't express what you were trying to get across in the first place, then get defensive on the comments you asked for. A bit "idiotic" don't you think?  Good luck :)

Lol cause you knew what i meant.. (Obviously you didnt) yeah i totally want to put my child at risk. I totally want to make my own life easier at the expense of my childs health.. Lol you are a joke. Think whatever you want but dont accuse me of something i am not trying to do... Its about dealing with what comes when it comes, and doing it the right way.. Oh, and i shouldnt have to be so painfully obvious about what i am trying to say like i am talking to a bunch of five year olds. when i simply ask a question and follow it with a statement People shouldnt "read between lines" and put words in my mouth. That in my opinion is idiotic, actually. And rude. I am an adult, if i wanted to alter the test or cheat i would have said something along those lines.
