Week late spotting in mornings?

I'm a week late and this past sunday I've had spotting in the morning time. It goes from a dark red color to light pink after a few hours then stops all together. I feel normal. Here and there have had some heartburn and mild headaches. Just a bit odd for spotting only in the mornings.  I'm sexually active. Not on birth control. Why am i experiencing this type of spotting?

I would even go further and say that the withdrawal method isn't even a prevention method at all!  The penis emits small amounts of sperm while 'thrusting' and that is enough to get you pregnant---  all of which happens before the full ejaculation. Symptoms are very difficult to really judge anything though as early pregnancy symptoms are subtle.  they don't really get rolling until 6 to 7 weeks into pregnancy when you are circulating enough hormones from the growing fetus to cause them.  Timing is a critical factor for conception.  We can always ovulate late making our period late and things that cause this are stress, illness, changes in routine, weight gain or loss, etc.  But as purple says, you will need to test.  A home test can bought just about anywhere these days and are pretty accurate when used correctly.  First mornings urine is best and make sure to read promptly and don't leave it to sit too long which makes the test invalid to read.  Anyway, good luck

As my previous post as well i did have this happen last month as well. With just spotting but more came with it last month. But i will certainly test this week.
Yes.  And since you are having this worry frequently, I would step it up and use real birth control from now on just for your peace of mind.  good luck

Withdraw method is probably one of the least effective ways to prevent pregnancy- so if that's what you are using and not using any other precautions, you could be pregnant.  The spotting could be your period starting, but since you are a week late already, I'd get a test and take it to be certain what is going on.  Let us know how it goes!
