If you believe you've already missed your period or may be 2 weeks along than you can start using home tests. The urine tests done at the doctors office can detect around 5 days pregnant.

I took one at 4 days late and it was neg. I took one again at 7 days late and got a positive. Tests can come back positive as soon as 5 days after conception, but for the very most accurate results you should wait till the week after your missed period.

Take one in a week if your period still hasn't come. If that one is negative.  Go to the doctor.
