Provera-Why all of a sudden I have to take this pill?

So, My period last two periods were where June 24 and July 21, but no period for Aug. I have taken about 10 pregnancy test with four different brands, all negative. I called my doctor. She prescribed me 6 pills of 10mg provera. Now all of a sudden I have gained 7 lbs just after 4 days of taking it, and I do extensive exersice on a daily basis for two months preparing for basic training. I am 27 yrs old. Why all of a sudden this is happening to my body? I have been cramping really bad and my boobs hurt, and one even looks bigger than the other. I tried to do my sit ups this morning, but I could only do three since it felt like my ovaries were ripping a part. This can't be good. I do take a thyroid med for hypo for the past 4 yrs. Let  me know what you think on why my body all of a sudden wants to act this way. OH, and this Provera gives me some real irritability.

Provera is progesterone and it makes you feel like you are pregnant... I have to take them every time I need to have a period. They are all side effects of the pill you are taking. It ***** but as soon as you stop taking the pills then you will feel tons better!

Nope no blood test. My thyroid was checked July 23rd while I was on my period that time and it all came out normal. I took 4, $1 preggo test, then I took the early response one two of those, then I took the Answer preggo test, two of those, and just yesterday I took the for sure preggo test, two of those and it was all negative. I called my doctor right after i posted this and she said that she is going to go ahead and let me stop the provera tomorrow, then 10-12 days I should then start my period. I just feel miserable. I mean I don't even recall being this bloated. ugh!!~ Truth be told, I don't want to be pregnant right now. Reason I'm not on birth control is because I don't want to blow up like a cow. I was on that Mirerna after the birth of my daughter, but it was not a good experience. I was mean, i gained 40 lbs, and it gave me physcological issues, but when i got off of that, I was fine....welll...until now!!

Have you had a BLOOD pregnancy test done? I think your doc should have done that before prescribing provera...when was the last time you had your thyroid function checked?
