Just means the cord inserts into the placenta near the edge rather than at or near the center. Standard protocol is to check fetal growth in the 3rd trimester. No worries.
OK ! Yeah I didn't even know until I saw my paper work at 35 weeks! And now aiming towards 37 but everything is looking good! But yeah I've never herd anyone have it?
No worries, mama. They make it sound like a big deal because they bring it up and check it again but it's really not a big deal. I'm 32 weeks almost and they haven't said anything else about it or checked it again.
I have it! You're the first person I've seen on here who has it too! I was told at 21 weeks during my gender ultrasound that the cord was marginal. They said "it's not common but it's not uncommon." Whatever that means. Told me not to worry too much about it. Scheduled a non-routine ultrasound at 28 weeks and nothing had changed. The only reason they check it again is too make sure it doesn't "slip off" the placenta to the point where the baby wouldn't be getting properly nourished.
