I started buying things straight away tbh. I don't believe in jinxing. They say don't announce/buy things until 12 weeks as that's when you're most likely to miscarry but pregnancy can still go wrong after 12 weeks, even though it's rare and the chances are minimal. Its up to you - don't let people put you off buying things x

Congratulations on your pregnancy! You can find out the gender as early as 15 weeks I've heard. I found out at 19 weeks.

As for nerves, that just depends on you as a person. I've been nervous my whole pregnancy, kept telling myself it'd go away after my 12 week scan, then I said it'd go away after my 16 week check up, then I said it'd go away after my 20 week scan... I'm now 22+4 and today I went to a drop in midwife and broke down in floods because of my nerves and anxiety and I can't enjoy my pregnancy because of it. I'm gonna advise you not to worry (I should take a leaf out of my own book) because I wouldn't wish what I'm experiencing on any woman, its awful. Hope your pregnancy is going fine so far :) xx

Between 16-18 weeks. I'm a first timer as well, and I know how you feel. Every little thing worries. Just stay positive (:
