No heartbeat at 9 weeks

So I had my first ultrasound 2 days ago at 9 weeks my ob used a old machine and said she couldn't find a heartbeat. the baby was measuring up right at 9 weeks so the next day I had a ultrasound with a Better machine and both were vaginal ultrasounds, the lady that did it was new and didn't seem to know how to work the machine well. It seems like she was looking more at my uterus and ovaries rather then the baby. I then had a meeting with my ob who said that the lady didn't see a heartbeat and it's a miscarriage. I want to know should I have a second opinion or not. Or what should I do next.

If they didn't test your hormone levels, go somewhere else. That should be the first thing they do when they see a problem like this. If your hormone levels are still going up, the baby is alive. It can be very hard to find a heartbeat this early. I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks with this one and it took her awhile to find the baby, then another minute or so to get the heartbeat. My placenta is in the front right now, which makes it harder to find baby. It's possible you have the same problem. Definitely get a second opinion.

Definitely get a second opinion. I've known ladies who were told by their OB that they miscarried when they really didn't, it does happen. Especially if the people don't know what they're doing. Just get a second opinion, it can't hurt either way. I really hope they were wrong, prayers for you and your LO that everything is alright

Get a second opinion... I heard mine last week and the ob-gyn  was a wonderful woman. Always know for sure before you accept a verdict.

Yes get a second opinion for sure!!! I would even go to the emergency room and tell them that your scared you had a miscarriage. don't say your doctor already checked because than they wont see you. I had almost the same thing happen to me, they couldn't find a heart beat I was 7 weeks and the doctor told me there was no heart beat and sent me home!!! so I went to the er and told them I was bleeding and I think I had a miscarriage and my doctor isn't available. they did an ultrasound and baby was good and they got a heart beat. Your doctor should have done a better job, you dont play with things like this.

Miscarriages don't always have bleeding right away. They're called missed miscarriages.

Get a second opinion. Whatever makes you more confortable, sometimes they give you a pill if you havent started bleeding yet... Dont take it! If you want a second opinion take it after you find out for sure they could of made a mistake. That happend to my friend

Have they tested yoir blood hcg levels? That would be a for sure indicator of a misscarriage. Your hcg levels will rise daily if the pregnancy is still vital. If they drop continually, then consider the pregnancy a loss. I hope that helps a little and wish you the best. Stay positive and take care hun.
