OMG!!! nobody told me

well...i have a need to vent...i thought today was going to a better day but then the obituary from my uncle was in the newspaper and I saw he was preceded by a daughter...well i have never heard of this girl so I called my mom and said who's Shannon...my mom's like dont tell me nobody told you...told me what!!!!

it appears that my biological side of the family that I'm not very close to has a problem of preterm labor and all women in total lost 10 babies...now 11 taking into account my baby boy i just lost...but why didnt anybody tell me this...

Shannon was born 3 months early and med has changed since then so today she would have been able to survive but back then she didnt survive...and yet nobody told me this...OMG

im thinking my problem is genetic now and maybe the genetic bloodwork my doc wants to do is for a good reason....

i needed to vent...i understand im not that close to them but when I lost my baby I contact my biological father to tell him and he never mentioned this to me

i cant believe it

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope it helps you to know now though. I bet the blood testing will help too. I agree with "evthing" too, your father probably didnt even think about it when you told him you were pregnant. I woudlnt hold it against him. Maybe he didnt even know that the women on that side have the disorder. I hoe all goes well for you and you find all the answers to your questions soon. Good luck!!!

Well I think although it is horrible to find out the way you did, it may bring some answers for you. I'm surpirised that your mother didn't mention it when you lost your baby, your father (being a man) probably didn't "connect the dots" and realize it was info you needed, There is so much they can do once you find out if it is genetic or not, you may learn that you might not be able to carry one sex or the other, that say if you are have a boy (for instance) it may be at a greater risk to carry that genetic disorder...I hope you get your answers.

the hope i have is though there have been many mc's on that side of my family and preterm births....all the women have been able to have full term babies again...seems like it comes and goes with pregnancies...so its all a chance

im also hoping my doc is able to find out what could have caused it to happen to me...might explain a lot more than just my situation

That's awful.  I can't believe no one ever told you...especially since it could effect you, too.  That would make me feel terrible.  I'm sorry to hear that.  Maybe the testing would explain something.
