Menopausal or pregnant?

I am 42 years of age and have always had irregular periods. 5 years ago I had a fsh level of 110 and my doctor recommended the mirena coil. After 4 years I decided to have it removed that was Feb 12.  I had bloods taken again and my fsh level was 86 and the doctor said I was post menopause. I've not been using contraception since Feb as I assumed I had finished and was no longer fertile. I have not had a period in 4 years (since Marina was fitted) only one quite heavy when it was removed. Last month I had what I can describe as brown stringy discharge and feel pregnant! I know symptons are very similar but surely I can't be pregnant with fsh levels that high? Is my mind playing tricks?

Hi Stacey,
thanks for your reply, I've just done a test and it has come back negative.  Must be my hormones up the spout!

stranger things have happened and fsh levels can fluctuate, changing your diet and exercise can also bring levels down, the only way to know is to take a test, I have had 2 babies since turning 42, so dont rule out anything :)
