Spotting for more than 5 days

I just found out I am pregnant and based on HCG blood test the result showed it's 3rd wk pregnancy (28nov) however if it's based on LMP it should be 4th wk.
Since 23nov I experienced some spotting which I thought was the beginning of my period cause the date just match. But period never came till I checked and found out I am pregnant.
On 30 nov I didn't notice any spotting. But on 1 dec till today the spotting returns.
I don't feel cramps yet just sometimes uncomfortable feeling in my stomach but I think it's not a cramp.
Just visited OB yesterday and done Transv sonogram although not clear showed but he suspected 1 tiny dot as the embryo. Still uncertain and need to wait untill the next visit (10dec)
Currently he advised me to rest and not worry so much.
May I know your experience? Is it normal to have this spotting more than 5 days?
What should I do to stop it?
Thanks a lot for yor answers

i think this pregnancy wont last and i just wish that if it does then make it quick and hopefully with no more pain and no more additional procedure.

Angela, thanks for your calming advise. I did ask for another HCG test but my doctor said not necessary, maybe because I just had one 5 days before I met him :)
I just wish this spotting go away soon so I don't need to just lay down in bed and stop my activities :(
This is my second pregnancy and my first was a lot easier. Don't feel anything all smooth and worryfree, so completely different than this one.
Is there any medicine that ease spotting?
Doctor gave me duphaston 10mg (3x/day) other than that I also have folic acid and other pregnancy vitamins
Thanks again for yor advise

There are some people that spot/bleed in early pregnancy.  Have you had multiple HCG tests to make sure your numbers are increasing?  If they are, then I wouldn't worry.  When I got my BFP, I went and had a couple blood tests done over the course of a week to make sure everything was doing what it should.
Also, you probably won't get a good ultrasound, even transvaginal, until about 8 weeks along - that is when I had my first one (transvaginal) - the earliest my doctor would do it - and we could then clearly see a baby taking shape with little arm and leg buds.
I personally never had bleeding, but I know other people that did and everything turned out OK - best of luck to you! :-)
