32 Weeks with twins, for anyone who knows about preemies!!

Im 32 Weeks with twin girls. Long story short, today I pretty much was told that I could have my girls any day from here on out. Due to the fact i'm starting to go into preterm labor (been contracting for two Weeks start, even though i'm on contraction meds) Also, because one baby has always down an absent flow in her cord. It seemed to get better but now worse?
Well my question is that if I end up having my babies what kinda condition will they be in? I know they have to go to nicu, but could I hold them? How does this work? I also had steroids a while back just in case this would happen.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement. It really helps at times like these. I really hope they are healthy. Baby B has been a trooper this whole pregnancy! So I pray she can last at least another week. I would love for another three! But shoot ill take anything at this point! Between her absent flow in her cord, and these non stop contractions. I really don't know what to think anymore!

My daughter was born at 33 wks and was big (6lb6oz) . We left hospital after a day & half... It really all depends on how big baby(s) are.

I really hope you can make it as long as possible. I am 26 weeks with identical twin girls. My hugest fear is preterm labor, though so far I've had no issues with it and they are both measuring great. From what I understand,  healthy babies born after 32 weeks will almost certainly survive with much less risk of any developmental issues.

My aunt had my twin cousins at 28 weeks.  One was able to come home after 4 weeks in nicu the other was 8 weeks.  With today's technology you and babies will be just fine.  I know the fear u are long through.  I myself am pregnant with twin girls.  And my dr straight up told me he'll be surprised if I make it to 36 weeks.   I am very small framed and don't have much room.   Praying for them too cook at least another 2 weeks for u :).

My twins were born at 34 weeks weighing 4_9 and 4_11.. Boy and girl.. Only stayed in nicu for two weeks, babies weren't allowed in my room but I was allowed to feed them and change them while I spent the two weeks also with them

jkrodgers,
That is amazing! You really just encouraged me big time! I sure hope my girls are just as healthy as your son. I know that my girls are full term at 35 Weeks. But the doctor said if they were born now they wouldn't leave the nicu for almost 8 Weeks! I didn't have this pictured in my mind at all!

I had my daughter at 33 weeks, she was taken to the NICU and after I was done in recovery (I had a csection) I was able to go to the NICU and hold her. she was 5lb and 18 inches long. even tho she had a feeding tube through her nose cause her sucking wasn't fully developed, and an iv to keep her hydrated and was wrapped in a blanket that glowed blue to help with her jaundice I could hold her whenever I wanted and so could family members who were over the age of 18 and showed no signs of being sick. My daughter stayed in the NICU for about a month, then came home and stopped breathing the first time I laid her flat in her crib, after being recessitated she was taken by ambulance back to the hospital and straight into the NICU, they kept her for another 2 weeks and then she was able to come home again. she did have pretty bad acid reflex and sleep apnea so her stay was longer than normal i believe. good luck dear

I really hope I can get at least two more weeks in! Do you think a 32 week baby has any long term problems?

My son was born at the end of my 32 nd week. I was in the hospital for three weeks before hand on magnesium and Demerol to control contractions so ha time for steroids. When he was born he was 4 pounds 10 ounces and 17 inches long. He breathed on his own from the get go, ate great and passed his carseat test an was allowed to come home with us after three days. Today he is a perfectly healthy 8 year old who rodeos, climbs trees, swims, and is the bane of his 12 year old sisters existence ;D don't worry they will be fine!!

I had my twins at 35 weeks all twinkies are different. My daughter came home the next day and my son stayed in incu for two weeks. They usually make them stay til there 5 pounds. My son was one oxygrn for the first week and had a feeding tube for two weeks. We couldnt hold him til he was off oxygen. But alot of babies are just fine.
