PAIN :(

Just had such horrible shooting pain thru my vigina :( i've had it before but no where near as bad.. Any guesses what it could be?? Im 38w+1d x

I always refer to that feeling as "vagina lightening " because it literally feels like a bolt of lightening hitting you right in the crotch! It made me giggle that its actually called that :)

this type of pain in late pregnancy is perfectly normal and they call it "lightening", its wehen baby starts to snuggle into your pelvis and moves his/her head on your pelvic floor muscles creating an electric shock like sensation thats shoots thru your vagina, and if your really lucky sometimes it can go down your inner thigh as well :) all joys of those last few weeks, but yes take it as a good sign that bub is getting organised :)

Ya, the kind I felt at 35 weeks were more like the baby trying to poke lil foot or fingers thru, annoying and little uncomfortable.
The kind now is like sharp shooting pain that make me go ouch every time.

Yeah ive had them since 35 weeks but nowhere as sharp as that one just was.. Made me feel like i couldnt move.. Oh the joys of pregnancy :) x

I feel those too and I'm 35 weeks its probably that but for me also I swear its my little one hitting my cervix..

Oooo thanks for the reply :) i cant wait to meet my lilman had increased discharge today too.. Just well nervous never went into labour naturally with my first so dont know what to expect x

I just told my doctor about them at my 38 weeks check up. She said those are good sign, it mean the whole birth canal area is opening up in prepare for the baby. Show that your pregnancy is progressing. Suck to be in pain but I guess that mean the end is near :)
