39 weeks and getting ancy...

Ok so I know she will come when she's ready and none of the natural induction techniques will work if she's not ready.. That being said at my appt this past wednesday I was dilated to 2cm and 100% effaced.  I thought that meant she is almost ready.  Ok so We've BD every other night, I have drank cinnamon stick tea two cups a day for 4 days, I tried nipple stimulation and last night a couple pressure points on my legs that are suppose to help.  I really don't want to do castor oil I work at a children's hosp and couldn't imagine her aspirating meconium because of my impatience even if it is only a tiny chance.  Oh and I have been walking a lot also, any other suggestions?  I have had contractions 10 min apart starting in the evening (around 7pm) for three days but they stop when i go to bed.  I know I know I just need to wait.  But I have no plans on using pain medication of any kind and If they induce me I don't know if i can do it.  Thanks ladies.

Yeah the induction is scheduled for this sunday at 10pm.  so will be here by next week :).  I know it's just a guess but those silly numbers have so much power.  I know some women can regress as far as dilating goes I had never heard of the effacement reversing.  Who knows.  Thanks ladies.

I've heard of women who progress and then regress. But I'd imagine it's also possible for the doctors to be off. (Not sure how they would be, but they're only human after all) I'm sorry this is taking so long for you.

So my doctor did the check last week, the NP did my check today and somehow now I'm 1cm at 80% i'm confused did it really go back or is one of them or both a little off?  She was going to do a membrane sweep today but my cervix is behind the baby's head still so she could barely reach it.  Looks like i may be induced after all :(.  She has until sunday at 10pm to make her entrance :(

LOL My doctor always tells me "just a little longer" im like you do this for nine months and tell me your not ready to throw in the towel by 36 weeks! thats the bad thing about predictions, they could be right or wrong. good luck with your appt. tommorow.

Thanks I know I just need to wait.  It wouldn't be so bad if my doctor hadn't told me at 36 weeks that she would be here by 38.  I have another appointment tomorrow so hopefully there is some more progress.  And yes the nipple stimulation is weird and it hurts.  I won't be trying that one again.

I wouldnt try anything because alot of these things like the nipple stimulation can cause hard contractions that wont do anything and it feels weird after a few rubs lol. I would just wait, shes still cookin for a reason, I know its hard but you made it this far..you can handle a little bit longer. With you dialated and effaced im sure you more than likely wont make it to your due date.
