A few questions

I was wondering if you guys could shed some light on how the one hour glucose test is done and when is it that I might have to do the three hour test? I know that I have to fast before the test but I was told that I could drink water. Is that true? I'm scheduled to do the test next week and I feel a little uneasy about it...TMI but I keep getting yeast infections, which I should add that it's driving me totally nuts and is controling my life!!, so my OB says it might be from too much blood sugar. I have tried everything for my infections, but they keep coming back :(. Any advice? For those who don't know, I'm 15 weeks pregnant with my first baby :). And also I have an U/S scheduled for next week, what are the chances that I could find out if my baby is a boy or a girl? or is it too soon? I can't help it!! I'm in a rush to find out!! I know too many questions in one post...

There is no beed to fast for the 1 hr glucose test as it is a water drink full of sugar and they make you wait around before taking the blood for the hour so you don't burn off any of the sugar, the only time you do the 3 hr test is if your sugar levels are high, as for finding out the sex of the bub you should be able to see but as above it depends on whether they get a clear view or not, anyway good luck for the pregnancy

1 hour glucose your not supposed to fast your just supposed to eat like normal. The 3 hour glucose you are supposed to fast. As far as yeast infections try not wearing any undies when you go to bed or changing them at least once a day. I know thats weird but I had a yeast infection and that worked to get it to go away. It possible that they will tell you the sex of the baby but at that point they can only give you a guess since unless they get a REALLY good picture they might not be able to tell 100%. Most likely they'll have you come in for another to find out what the sex of the baby for sure. I was in a rush to find out as well haha! :)
