Abnormal pap smear

Doctor office called me and said that my pap came back abnormal and that I have BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) - has anyone ever had this while preggo??  they said I cant take an antibiotic until Im 14 weeks which is a couple weeks away still :\
I have no symptoms so I had NO CLUE I even had this.  I googled it (which is a bad thing because it always tends to make things worse in your mind).  Anyways it says it can put me at risk for going into preterm labor....does anyone know if there is any truth to this?? Im freakin out a little.

@beachbabe I notice you are on here a lot being negative and seems you try to start confrontation with people often. I have even noticed you being quite mean to others. No one was saying anything bad. This forum is for pregnant women to share information and support each other. Please try to do that.

Most people agree when I say modesty kinda goes out the window in regards to having many people with their hands in ur vag.   It was a statement that was all and meant in a joking manner.   It doesnt mean you cant be modest and it has nothing to do with gettin a pap test done.
I never said anything about changing who you are so I have NO IDEA where you are even getting that!

A pap smear is a routine exam while pregnant. Nothing bad about it. And it honestly has nothing to do with modesty. (Even though ob doctors definitely see it all LOL.)

I was 8 weeks and they only do it if you havent had one recently.  I havent had one since November so they did it now.  Its actually not anymore uncomfortable than usual.  Im kinda glad they did it now bc we found this out.  They do it for the same reasons they normally do them.  Eh to me its no biggie bc you have their fingers up there plus a transvaginal u/s early on as well...just one more thing to add!  You cant be pregnant and be modest lol that all goes out the window!

Bv is common. You can have the vaginal gel or pills to treat it. Waiting for the 2nd Trimester is a good idea. Sex is safe but can become uncomfy. You will be fine! :)

I had BV at 6wks it did cause minor spotting but I was able to get treated with antibiotics which was a gel inserted vaginaly, its not really a big deal being that they have a treatment plan set up for you, it is a very common infection in pregnant woman. They usually advise not to have sex during treatment but there is no harm having sex until you start your treatment.

I know :(   !!!  I guess they want me to be in the second trimester before they treat it.  Which I didnt understand bc I thought they would wanna treat it now.  But what do I know lol.  It just freaked me out a bit bc I have had 2 m/c before so Im scared of another.  But taking one day at a time and Im 11 weeks now so hopefully time files so I can get this taken care of!

Thanks ladies!
