They do numb you after birth if you need stitches for a tear or episiotomy.
If you tear or anything they might inject a small amount of local anesthetic to the area, I'm planning on an all natural birth and according to my family history all should play out perfectly :)
Im curious about this to. I think they can numb you just around the vagina and I saw some girls the other day talking about some pain meds through the IV thats not epi! So im wondering how good that stuff works I was thinking about doing that
Yeah, I am hoping they numb you in some kind of way. Jus have to talk to my doctor about it. I still have a long time to go, I'm jus 19w.
Im 36+2 my next doctors appt is on monday so I'm going to ask her about it. She hasnt talked to me about a birthing plan yet
Okay, let me know what your doctor says please :)
I didn't do meds this time I did with my first. I would choose natural again. They nymb you up for stitches. They give you a numbing shot that is like a burning pinch but its not that bad and its quick then you can't feel them stitching you. Natural is very doable and should be at least tried for as long as possible by everyone. I have nothing against women who get meds but I think you should try to go natural for as long as possible. I couldn't handle it with my first being medically induced was the worst.
