Amoxicillin while on Lo Estrin?

Question

if I am taking the antibiotic Amoxicillin, will it make my birth control pills defective? I have been taking them daily for about three weeks because of laryngitis, and last week my boyfriend and I had sex and he got off inside me. I am just about due to start my period, and I took my first placebo pill yesterday. but I am a little paranoid because I feel like I would have started by now. I have been taking the birth control pills Lo Estrin correctly for about a month now, so what are the chances I could be pregnant?

yes! not defective but significantly less effective, thats how we got my son haha.. if it doesnt show in a few days take a test.

how worried should I be? and how early can I feel symptoms? because my breasts are sore but could that be my period coming? it was on like the 14th day of my 24 day cycle...I'm really really worried...

If you're due for your period you can test anytime and it would be accurate.. it depends on the person how much it effects your BC.. lo estrin is a low form of BC as is, I got pregnant on ortho tri cylcen lo and taking an antibiotic, it completely cancelled my BC out. If it will put your mind at ease take a test now, it will be accurate and you'll know. Stressing can delay your period as well, and sore breasts can be from your period as well.

I was told that the chances are slim as it is...this is the only time my boyfriend, or anyone for that matter, has gotten of inside of me. What was it like for you? like we're you and your husband doing it often?

okay, thank you so much. I know there isn't much more I can do or anything else you can tell me until I take a test, but if there's any other reassurance or tips you could give me, I would be so thankful. Just a little background I'm 19 and I come from a very holy family so me doing this is completely frowned upon and I would never be able to tell my parents. I'm just such a mess. I'm sorry. usually when your BC gets cancelled out it takes a while for you to ovulate again, if you were having sex frequently and letting him finish in you then I'd be worried, there's still a chance but not likely.. i thought you meant you were doing it a lot, i really wouldn't worry if i was you!

it's not your fault, the pharmacy is supposed to notify you of that when you pick up your script, I didn't know either, hence my son at 17 haha! But it all worked out in the end, I'll add you on here and you can message me!

okay so I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I followed the directions carefully, but I'm still even paranoid about it being a false negative because of something that was wrong...

then your good! if your period is due it would show + by now, if no period in a week test again but remember stress can delay your period too

I guess I'm just afraid that even though I'm expecting my period, because im at the very end of my pack where it always starts, that maybe my body wasn't expecting it...I don't want there to be an, 'if I don't start' option...gosh I can't beat this paranoia...):

...and I've been reading alot and it's been saying how people have been in my situation and still ended up pregnant...it's been at least 2 weeks since the sex, so is that still to early to detect a pregnancy, even though I took the test 2 days after my missed period?
