Anyone fail 1hr GTT and pass 3hr?

Just got back from my 3 hr Glucose Tolerance Test and I gotta say, I hope I never have to do that again!!! Silly me, I was under the impression it would be similar to the 1hr test where you drink the orange substance, wait for a certain amount of time and then have your blood drawn. Waaaaaaaayyyyyy wrong, I didn't expect that the drink would be that much sweeter this time around and I wasn't prepared for 4 draws! Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you ladies had ever failed the 1 hr test and gone on to pass the 3 hr??? If so, please list the results (if you remember) from your first and second tests. I think normal is anything below 130??? That's what the nurse from the dr's office told me anyway. I bombed the first test with a frightening 152!!! Just trying to get a realistic idea of what I can expect. Thanks :)

I failed the 1 hour with a 134.  Passed the 3 hour, although I don't know what the numbers were.  I wouldn't worry about food for the 3 days leading up to your test.  Your doctor or lab would give you any special instructions that you would need for the test.  Good luck!

Thanks! I hope I get good news on Tuesday. I was concerned because I read online that you're supposed to consume additional carbs the 3 days prior to testing but I was never told to follow any diet by my Dr. I'm hoping that had no negative effect on my results. Again, thanks for the info! :)

I failed the 1hour with 148 (i think) went in for the 3hour and I passed with these number:

fasting: 83
1hr:194
2hr:161
3hr:91

I'm assumin the 1st hour was high because that drink is so sweet, but as it leaves your body, you get lower results.  Good luck, and most likely you passed the 3hour test too!! A lot of people fail the first time around.

i don't recall the numbers, but i failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 hr. while i was there i thought for sure i failed cause the drink did crazy things to me.
