I understand and make sure you mention that to her as well.... I have epilepsy myself and am on 500mg keppra 2x a day and we are TTC baby #3...
It'll be different for me because I did not have epilepsy until a couple years ago due to brain damage from too low of oxygen levels for too long when I had pneumonia and went into a coma for about 8 days....
I don't think you have to be dialated to a certain point but all doctors are different in what they do and how they do it. Are you already dialated and effaced at all yet?
Generally they want you favorable as possible to labor. They're gonna test your urine for protien most likely, especially if your blood pressure is getting higher. Stress definitely doesn't help with either bp OR epilepsy since it can make both worse... in the meantime maybe try some chamomile tea, a warm (not hot) bath or shower and some meditation...
I definitely don't see any harm in asking. The worst that can happen is your dr will say no. Sometimes it is safer when you have high bp to induce.
Alright! :) and also I ment to add one of my worries is with my blood pressure and the headaches is that I have epilepsy and I REALLY dont want that to effect it at all. Ill be 39+2 by then so Im hoping shell consider. Do you have to be dialated to a certain point to be induced?
I think it's ok to ask. My son was born at 37w5d because I was contracting every 3min and fluids didn't stop them... I had been contracting for 2 days when I went in and was having a repeat Csection so I'd stopped eating and drinking fluids within the required timeline and then begged for my Csection....
My son was alright and had no health issues from being born then. your nearly 39w, some doctors consider 38w full term so you should be ok! :) Congrats and Merry Christmas!~
My doc said she would discuss induction with me at 39 weeks. She did say there was a cervix "test" that would have to be done to see if I'm a candidate. (I don't want to be induced though!) So yes you could def ask
