generally will weigh you, do a history of you and your partner.... they will probably do a pelvic exam and a pap smear. they might go over some adaptations you need to do...
they will then send you for a bunch of bloodwork
Based on MY experience (6 full term pregnancies with different docs) they will do blood work, a urine test to make sure you ARE pregnant,. Some doctors will go ahead and do a pap smear, others won't. Some doctors will go ahead and do a dating ultrasound as well. Others will have you schedule that. Expect to give your medical history, information on your last period, etc. You will probably get a script for or recommendation for over the counter prenatal vitamins. Some docs give out samples as well. Many docs give out tons of info like books, magazines, coupons, samples etc. Many doctors will also give you a packet of what THEIR guidelines are for OTC medications, diet, etc.
This is a great appt to ask tons of questions. Make a list and take it with you along with a pencil so you can write down all the answers. Good luck!
