Always agitated and ill-tempered

I don't know if it's part of pregnancy or ranging hormones during pregnancy but I always feel impatient and tend to shout and scold my daughter who is 4 years old (turning 5 this March 2017). I even came to the point where I would spank her which I always would like to avoid. I love my daughter so much but when she starts crying or having tantrums I always lose my temper-and I also observed that my attitude towards her just made her don't care or don't listen to me. I am afraid that my attitude towards her will traumatize her. I need an advice. Please! Thank you!

So sorry to hear about the impatience, pregnancy hormones can definitely cause it!  It's helpful to take a step back and take a deep breath- when you feel that 'impatient' feeling bubbling up, take a moment to walk away, count to ten (I know it sounds cliché), and then re-group.  When you do lose it and yell when you shouldn't, take a moment to apologize to your daughter and let her know you were wrong- it goes a long way to be able to say you are sorry and it helps you to remember to try to maintain control over those impatience feelings as well.
