Be careful when posting ultrasound pictures.

I've seen more and more pictures posted both in the Communities, and in photo albums here, that contain full names.

Be mindful that this is a public website, and any information you put out there can be seen by anyone.  And there are some questionable people who do cruise some of these communities.

Just be careful.

Thanks,
Peekawho, co-CL of the Maternal and Child Community.

you can also go to google and search for "picasa" it's a free download for photo editing software...it will allow you to crop the pictures so that the information is gone.

If there's ever a concern about someone putting forth too much personal information you can always notify one of the community leaders.  For those who don't know, you can distinguish community leaders by the little purple flower next to their name.

So scary what a trail of information you inadvertently leave behind you on the internet.

Just for fun and curiosity, i can't stress that bit enough, me and hubby were discussing this one night and decided to see just how much information we leave behind. With a friend's permission, again can't stress that bit enough, we managed to get into her email account, change her picture and status on facebook, see ebay transactions in her email account, found out her mother's maiden name on genes reunited which was a her online banking password because it prompted us... Oh dear lord she was mortified!

She was sitting next to us at the time and couldn't believe how we had managed to scoop all this information together in about 20 minutes!

Be careful what trail you leave behind and change your online passwords every month!!!

P.S. I am not a psycho, do not worry i am not now hacking accounts! Ha! The only code i'm currently trying to crack is how to get bloody pregnant!

I accidentally did that and deleted it. You can use websites, such as picnik, to edit your photos and cover up your name if you want to post the ultrasound picture.

I have noticed the full names as well and that is not really a good thing to post on a public site.  My hubby does information security for a living and if anyone gets a hold of your personal info they can get anything from your last name.

One other thing is make sure that you black out the SSN as well or that could become a real issue if someone uses it to use your identity.

I actually whited out my last name and SSN because I knew from my hubby not to give out personal info.

Thank you so much for posting this.

There was one long time member who had something posted with her name a few months ago, and was stalked when she made a post that disagreed with someone.   She was pretty frightened.

You never know.

If you see any photos with names on them in peoples photo albums, it would help to write the person and remind them, or copy the link to Med Help using the CONTACT US link at the bottom of each page.
