both of my babies were SGR (small for gestional age) in fact by the time I delivered baby #1 at 36 weeks I was only measuring 30 and baby number two was delivered at 38 weeks measuring 33 weeks. I had a perfectly healthy 4lb girl and a 5lb girl so don't be alarmed if your baby is a bit on the small side - it makes them easier to deliver lol :)
Thank you both for your response. I am hoping that she is just on the small thing and nothing is wrong. As far as the due date, it was a planned pregnancy so the dates are correct. Thank you again for putting my fears to rest.
As the previous commenter stated it could be that your dates are off or your little one is just a slower grower! If baby is under 15% on a growth chart then that is cause for alarm but if they are higher than that it is probably just that they're on the small side. Not every baby is born average-weight.
It could mean the abby is on the small side or is not growing fast enough such as IUGR but that has to be diagnosed after many scans of showing the same. I woudl nto worry about it yet. THis is your first and I am guessing you have not had many scans so thye do not know the babies growth pattern and just have to watch it. They could find out the baby is growing at the smae rate but just small. Or you they could be wrong on your dates. It is really to early to tell. Just know that if they did nto tall you to come in right away for another scan you don't need to worry yet! I know that is hard and this is your first but just make sure you are eating right and staying on track with weight gain in a slow steady manner.
