Vaginal deliveries are good especially if you dont have an epidural because you can basically just getup sand walk straight after

Yeah, I wasn't allowed to choose either and ended up with a c-section bc my daughter went into distress.. I haven't heard of many being able to choose so that was quite interesting to me..

In the uk you only get to choose if you want a c section if you've had one before. Otherwise they dont give them unless necessary

Vaginal is best its what your body is made for. A c section is a back up plan if nothing else works.

Thanks for the insight. By hearing your birthing experience tells me it depends what OB Dr you see. My Dr. wouldn't do c-sections off preference. If you have a dr who is giving you a choice, by all means choose whichever you think suits you.

I had my daughter on May 13th by c section and it was a planned c section 100% my choice. She was my first and there were zero complications, and my doctor was totally fine with it even though she was in position and completely healthy. Also, if the doc doing the c section is good the incision is only about 6 inches. I had a spinal which didn't hurt at all and 8 hours after surgery I was walking the hospital halls, 24 hours after I was off painkillers completely. C sections aren't bad at all :) Goodluck with whatever option you decide.

Best thing to think about delivery opts.. Is are you thinking of having no medication? Or epideral?? Those are delivery opts to think about.. C-section isn't the best way to go.. Natural birthing helps push fluids put of the lungs of our baby's bc of going through the birth canal.. There's no easy way to have a baby and c-section is really the last resort bc your birthing isn't proceeding how it should and you or your baby is in danger.

Dr's don't do automatic c-sections unless their is complications... I had an emergency C-section and I wouldn't wish that experience on my enemy bc it was scary/ I was lucky my daughter got out in time. Only way of having a choice is if your previous was delivered Via c-section bc of known complications.. You may get induced to start labor, if your baby goes into distress or is turned the wrong way, or your not dilated in a certain amount of hours after water has been broken.. Then a c-section would be in order.. Not trying to scare you just that's reasons for c-sections.

^^ agreed. I would ask your doctor if you even have a choice because usually they have you try vaginal and then if there is complications then go to a csection.

I don't think you get to choose what you want, I think c-sections are only preformed when necessary.
