Mucus Plug

I'm 37 weeks and 6 days. I went to the Dr last week to see if I was dilated.  I was indeed 1 cm. I went again today for my weekly check up and I was still 1 cm. After leaving the Dr my stomach became real crampy. Menstrual like cramps. And I had the urge to have multiple of bowel movements. A few hours later I passed my mucus plug and the cramps are still happening. I'm not in pain just very uncomfortable. What should I do?

Call your doctor and pay attention to see if the cramp feelings increase. It sounds like you're in the early stage of labor. I was in labor within hours of losing my mucus plug and they started out feeling like menstrual cramps. They were only slightly uncomfortable and over the next few hours did get stronger. Soon it was obvious they were contractions.
