Cervical cancer

I am 27 weeks pregnant and my doctor just told me I have cervical cancer. She said they can not treat me until after I have the baby and he is at no risk. My question is has anyone else ever had this and were you able to have another child afterwards or not? Was it painful when going through treatment?

Thank you for all the support and I'll be sure to tell them I still want to have another baby after this. Hopefully I will be able to. The doctor did say it did not appear to be too far along and that it's very slow moving.

brknessthe reason it took so long to find was because I was seeing a different doctor for the beginning of my pregnancy and they were not doing any of my testing or keeping appointments. I was 24 weeks and hadn't had any tests done or anything so I switched doctors and my new doctor found it right away. She kept it kind of vague because she told me that as of now I just have to get through the pregnancy healthy and keep my stress down and she did not want to worry me by the possibilities.

Oops sorry
It depends on how far it is, they might just have to do a pretty simple procedure. The worse it is the worse the treatment. Your Dr needs to be more informative!!

They should've found this before 27 weeks. It usually takes awhile for the cells to actually turn into cancer.

I had hpv about 7 yrs ago at the biggining of my preg with my youngest daughter they did all the standard prenatal testing and thats how they found it, before this i had no clue what it was then i knew that it then turnes into cervical cancer my doc told me u get it from ur partner sleeping around i was soo pissed at him me pregnant and then this, so i had to get a biopsy done to see if i had cancer cells on my cervix, doc said i didn't that i was very low lever to be cancer so then they froze my cervix to eliminate any chance of cancer cells forming, after this i had to go every 6 months to get a pap done to make sure everything was normal, the way they find cervical cancer is thru the pap, before this i never knew what they were for i just knew you had to get them done every year, good luck and hope you can get it treated asap when ur baby is born

I have a friend that had a baby in November and had cervical cancer in high school. I think it just depends on the stage and stuff. She had a hard time getting pregnant though. She went through 7 miscarriages before her daughter

It depends on the cancer how far along it is and the tram entry they have to do.. if having another baby is important to you make sure you tell the doctor that so they can try the treatments that will allow you to still have a baby after... they thought I had cervical cancer (I didn't they sent me to the cancer clinic and did a biopsy it came back that it wasn't cancer) and while at the cancer clinic they showed me a movie about options and it talked about how depending on the treatment you can still have a baby!! I wish you the best of luck!!
