Ask your doc/midwife. That's the best advice I can give on this one. Prep for a vaginal birth, and I'm the meantime ask! "Under which circumstances would you prefer me to have a c section rather than a vaginal delivery? Could we try episiotomy/forceps/vacuum extraction first?" (In case of automatic c section in case of breech: "do you know any other providers that do assist in breech vaginal deliveries?" If not "could we try a version our trial of labor before going straight into surgery?")

How far are you? Have you talked to your doc/midwife about their c section rate? And under which circumstances they'd want to do a c section? (Ie my midwife would refer me to an obgyn for surgery if baby was breech)

Depends on your provider and your insurance. Most providers aren't comfortable offering non medically indicated c sections. Then again, very few doctors support Vbac. I would personally never choose surgery unless it was an emergency.
