******* Dr won't do repeat Csection til 39w but due to hospital protocol timing works to 39w5d! UGH

I found out at my OB appointment today that my OB doesn't do repeat C/S until 39w, for  me it falls on a friday, and they dont' do planned C/S on friday or monday.... because friday they're conserving supplies til monday and monday they're swamped w/patients.

This means I'll be 39w5d at my planned Csection date. I do NOT Want to go into labor, and wind up driving the hour there only to have them deliver me EMERGENCY Csection!!! I'm already miserable at 36w4d!

I had ctx every 2-3min today (and at several points 2-5min) and they told me unless they're painful enough I can't walk or talk not to come in. well we walked around the mall for 1 1/2 hrs to see what happened and they got more painful but not to that point. just so I had to choose either to stop and talk or walk and breathe only......UGH

I AM NOT A HAPPY MAMA! and BTW.... yes I know it's better to stay in as long as possible, however personally I don't worry too much about having him around 37w.  IMO

I know babies born earlier ESPECIALLY by a csection have a higher chance of complications, I wouldn't mind honestly... except for how the timing works out. because I'm a repeat csection and had my last one only 15mo ago they've told me they don't want me to go into labor (early on they said this) because if I do there's the risk of rupture. but lately they've told me that I'll have to contract til it's really painful.    that's a conflict of information to me.

The painful ctx finally died down overnight, and yesterday I had NORMAL BH ctx but did lose a good part of my plug. last night they got more frequent, but not uncomfortable. I just laid in bed and went to sleep (and think they might've slowed) but this morning they're starting back up and slowly becoming more and more uncomfortable.
also my dr's that I see are high risk and deal with all sorts of complications. I worry that all the contracting might stress him and make him have a bowel movement in utero. (we saw alot of babies in NICU when TJ was there who had swallowed muconium)   but we'll see what happens.

As miserable as you feel, you actually have a doctor who is following recommendations. You should be happy to have someone that responsible looking out for the well-being of your baby. I would think that after going through so much with your first, you would understand the importance of doing everything in your power to prevent ANY complications, be it minor or serious. Babies at 37 weeks have MUCH higher chances of complications when delivered by scheduled c-section.

It's your second baby, so those contractions will continue right til the end. I had them for weeks. Not fun. Hang in there. It's not much longer.
