Coloscopy and Biopsy

Hello, I am 14 weeks pregnant, yay! But i recently had a pap smear come back abnormal for the first time. They also informed me that i had bacterial vaginosis. My midwife scheduled me for a coloscopy and biopsy which i just arrived home from. I did not have a good experience. Apparently my cervix is to one side more so than straight, so when he placed the first speculum inside of me he was moving it all over and poking really hard trying to figure out why it wouldn't fit right i guess. I cried quite a bit even though i was trying to be a tough pregnant lady. The nurse gave me a pretty pink tissue that smelled like flowers while the doctor placed the second, larger speculum inside of me. This was much more tolerable so they proceeded to the biopsy, which was really only a stingy pinch. The doctor said he didn't see anything and he seemed sure i was fine. After that he prescribed me Clindesse vaginal cream for the bacterial vaginosis.
Have any of you ever used Clindesse cream while pregnant? I am a little nervous to honestly. Any prescription drug freaks me out.  Thank you for reading my question!
feel free to tell me about any of your coloscopy experiences!

I use Flagyl *spelling* for my vaginal problems, but that is because I am allergic to most of the creams. It can make your tummy a bit upset though. Try taking it when you feel least nauseous and with a bit of food. That might help. Because I am allergic to the creams I can't use over the counter stuff for yeast infections either so my doc always prescribes 6 pills when I run out so that I have some on hand when a problem arises.

natemomma: was it Flagyl they prescribed? I tried that first a few days ago but i couldn't keep it down. Did your antibiotic upset your stomach?

I am 14 weeks preggo also :-) and at 12 weeks was told i had bacterial vaginosis.... I was prescribed the vaginal gel that you insert, dr said it should be absolutely fine to take during pregnancy......... and it cleared it all up! Its best to take the meds  and get it all cleared because it can cause preterm labor (im sure thats a worse case senerio) but its better to be safe then sorry....

i had my pap done early in my pregnancy and it came back abnormal as well, but i refused the colposcopy.

i actually just went to my doctor earlier this month and was told i had bacterial vaginosis and they prescribed an oral antibiotic, not a cream. the bill was a little on the larger side, but i didnt have any side effects and its very safe in pregnancy.
