Stopped gaining weight?

Hi Ladies,

I'm 30 weeks pregnant now. I have gained 17lbs total. The last two weeks I haven't gained any weight. Has anyone else just stopped gaining weight during the third trimester? I thought I was supposed to blowing up now?

I use pregnancyfit.com to track what I'm eating and my work outs. I seem to get enough calories each day.
I see my midwife again after Thanksgiving but just wondered if it was pretty normal to stop gaining at his point or not.

Thanks!

lin_z_ttc1~ your midwife is very right. Calories/lbs can both go to baby which can stop your weight gain or even cause you to lose weight.

When pregnant both times, I stopped gaining near the end.
With TJ I gained about 15 lbs and that was because during the end of my 2nd trimester and most of my 3rd I kept packing down fast food daily. He was born 35w5d at 5lb5oz emergency csection.

With Mason my total weight gain was 6lbs and that was all during the 2nd trimester and maybe the first month of my 3rd trimester.   Born 37w5d 6lb5oz.

My body was actually using my own fat to feed them instead of using my calories with food to feed them.
Before TJ I was 5'8 177lbs, and before Mason I was 5'8 and 165lbs,

After TJ I was lighter than I started within a week, and after Mason I was lighter than I started (by 5lbs or so) in a week but with him I gained up to about 170.

Thanks! Sounds like we are in the same spot. That is reassuring. I just a veggie burger and this kid is having a great time punching and kicking me! HA!

Hurray, I'm not the only one :0). I'm also at 30 weeks, and I've only gained 18lbs total. As of my last appt I hadn't gained anymore either. Maybe our bodies are saving up for the chowing down during Thanksgiving and Christmas lol. My midwife didn't seem too worried by this, and told me that sometimes the calories/pounds go straight to baby, and and they might just take a pound or two off of us. My little one is still active, and more so after a meal so, heres to hoping the weight gain stays this steady through the Holidays, eh? :0)

only 17lbs in 30 weeks, congrats :-) lol, they say the average weight gain is 28lbs with most of it going on at the start and then the rest near the end. As long as your baby is growing normally, dont worry about it.
During my 1st trimester i gained 14lbs and it just looked like i had gotten fat, then put on no weight at all during my second trimester, and as soon as my 3rd trimester kicked in, the weight just piled on and it total i gained 3 1/2 stone!!!!! most of it going on at the end, and an additional 7lb piled on when i went 12 days overdue.
When my son was born 21lbs came off right away then over the next 8 months the rest gradually came off.
I wouldnt worry too much as every pregnancy is different. As long as your baby is growing ok, then everything is fine :-)

Thanks Michele! I know my midwife will tell me either way. I was just wondering how common it is. You always hear about gaining too much weight but hardly ever that they stop gaining. Maybe it's just a phase...after all, Thanksgiving is next week :) I could pack another 5lbs at the dinner table.

Well, I know with my last one (she is 14 months old), I did stop gaining toward the end.  I didn't gain any weight like the last 8 weeks or so.  Even had a u/s to make sure my baby was growing fine and she was, but still worth mentioning to your midwife.
