Diaper sizes?

Lol, its funny and confusing. So im gonna ask you guys (: hats the average size a newborn wears in diapers? Its confusing because me and my babies father bought a super pack of diapers (size 1) I opened a bag so I could pack my hospital bag and the diaper looked extremely tiny. Should I go up a size like my mother says to? Whats the average size?
Thanks!

My daughter was born 18 days ago at 7lbs 2oz and she is still in newborns. Size ones are way too big on her.

My baby was 7 lbs 14 ozs and 21 in long so not a tiny baby and she was in newborns for like a month. Than size 1 for 2 months and now she is 3 nd a half months and jus went to size 2. And size ones are 8-14 lbs... Not 14 lbs and up.

Hospitals supply diapera but bring some size ones with u incase newborns are small they may not have size 1. And once u have baby if they are going to be wearing newborn then have someone go out n get u a box. My son went straight into size one and all the newborn diapers i ended up giving away

My son went straight into size one (: If you think your going to have a smaller sized baby then go with newborn diapers . Deff not size two though thats for 14 pounds and up . & Most hospitals supply diapers especially in the US ... Congrats though !!
