Just wanted to share (small vent)

So my frustration today at my 21 week appointment was
1) my OB wasn't there, so I saw some random midwife
2) the midwife LOOKED at my belly and told me the top of my uterus was at my belly button.
3) I asked her, "did you feel where it was at?" She said, "yes. its at your belly button. right on track"

Okay. First of all, I never met anyone who could feel where your uterus was at my LOOKING at your belly. Second, I KNOW how to find my fundus because MY OB taught me at my 15 week appt. And not only did this random OB NOT feel my belly, but she also didn't even take out a measuring tape!!!!!!
I was sooo upset cuz first of all, i've been feeling like i've been measuring kinda big and was looking forward to this appt for my OB to tell me where I was measuring at. So i was like uhhhh okay. thanks for nothing, horrible doctor.

The same exact thing happened to me at my 20 week appt :/ the random dr just walked in and looked at my chart and asked how I was feeling n walked out -__- I had an u/s right before my appt in the same office though so I didn't worry about it. But if I were u I would do what ktowne said and see if you can't get in to see our dr soon

It just ***** when your appt's are 4 weeks out, because you really look forward to a good experience when you DO go! I don't care for my doctors replacements much either!

Well I get seen at the Army Hospital at the OB/GYN clinic and my "doctor" is also a midwife but she's just like the most amazing person, ever lol. I was really disappointed that she wasn't there but I didn't expect such a crappy replacement lol. I did make my next appt 02/05 with MY ob, so hopefully she'll be there then ):

I've heard midwives are much, much more laid back about the particulars, I wouldn't be comfortable with that either. Maybe call and talk to your doctors office and ask when your doctor is going to be there and if you can have another appt., and not to see her again.
