How good are the dollar store pregnancy test? Can I take them before I start my period and it be accurate? Just curious. I had a miscarriage in April 08 and have been TTC since and I have been feeling like I did when I was pregnant before but Im due to get AF in 5 days. Would a dollar store test be accurate enough?

With the dollar tree test they detect levels at 25mui, so it depends on if your levels are 25 or greater.  They worked well for me in the past,(i got a BFP 11 days before my cycle, but my levels were so high when i went to dr) but this time they are making me angry because i want a BFP and im getting a BFN, well i guess its too early for me to test, only 9dpo

i do not use them before a missed period because they need at least 100 level of hcg, i have always used clear blue digital and they are great.  i got a BFP 5 days early with that one.

I used dollar general brand 2 days before af and got a faint +.  I am now 23 weeks

I found out that I was pregnant with them and I know that they are really reliable

Thanks for the advice I think I might buy a few tonight. Hopefully I can have some others opinions as well..

If you are talking about the ones from dollar tree called new choice they are pretty good.  They are sensative just like any other early test.   I have never had a problem with them but I have seen posts about evap lines and not picking up pregnancy when another brand of hpt did.  I would suggest using first morning urine and dont read it after the time limit bc of the evap lines.  If you get a pos i would follow up with another brand the next day just to be sure!  if its negative its still early so I would wait a few days and try again.

it worked for me with my 1st when i was 2 wks late. But with this one i tested 3 days early with it and it came back negative then i took a clearblue easy digital and it said pregnant so it just depends on if your hcg level is high enough for the test.
