24 weeks 2 days got a steroid shot to speed up lung development

I'm so so scared my son is going to be born before 36 weeks /: I went to my ob Dr today got my cervix length checked at its at 1.2!!/: I'm going on vacation to Michigan Tuesday and it's a 18 hour drive from williston ND so my doctor gave me a steroid shot to speed up his lung development because she's worried I'll go into labor. What are my chances he'll survive if he's born in the next few weeks? I don't want to stress about it to make it any worse but I can't stop thinking about it. And I have no one to talk too!/:

Hmm the earliest I've heard of a baby surviving is 26 weeks, and the baby was in the hospital for like 4 months then he got to go home :) so it's possible, try to keep your baby in as longgggg as possible, good luck.

I'm only going to be there for 10 days. I don't plan being on my feet at all

If you have him early they'll keep him there till your due date. As far as health wise he should be ok because shot but that's not 100% just drink lots of water and stay off your feet as much as possible!!!

Hmm well if your going to stay Michigan then you should probably try to lay down and not do alot of walking or standimg up and drink lots of fluids. I wouldnt go unless I was going to stay but if its that I would put it on hold to try to keep the baby in longer. Just a thought..

Usually when you have a short cervix they don't want you doing a lot of walking because it puts pressure on your cervix. I also have a short cervix. I wouldn't go on vacation either. I'd stay home and take it easy.

I agree, if I were you I wouldn't go on vacation. Your cervix is short =/ which isn't good. I'd stay home close to hospital.
