Empty sac at 23,300 hcg level. Is this normal?

I went in on Monday thought I was 7 weeks 3 days pregnant. But when the doc did a ultrasound they saw an empty sac. The doc said it could be an ectopic pregnancy or a misscarriage. Had blood test done showing results of hcg level at 23,300. Went back today to have another blood test done which was 48 hours from monday and results came back at 29,300. I'm worried that it didn't double. Having another ultrasound next week. Is this normal? I'm hoping I'm just really early and ovulated later than I thought. This is really stressing me out.

Sorry. I was there 6 months ago. Empty sac. Slowly rising hcg and turned out to be a blighted ovum, which somebody else already described. It helped that i had time emotionally to accept and prepare. My doctor always says, "hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.". I waited until close to 10 weeks and still only an empty sac, then opted for d&c.

I don't want to disappoint you but the same thing happen to me with my first pregnancy. I thought I was 9 weeks pregnant until one day, I started spotting. No pain, hcg levels were rising and everything seemed normal, except the sac was empty. They checked my tubes to see if the baby moved there, nothing there either. I was then told by the docs that the baby was absorbed into my tissue because it was not growing right. They had to give me a D & C soon later. Its another form of a miscarriage. And my sac was only 7 1/2 weeks big, so I lost the baby

i dont want to scare you either but i had a similar experience, i had a scan at 7 weeks and was told there was a sac and a yolk but not fetal pole (baby), the ultrasound tech told me it was most likely a blighted ovum and missed miscarriage. that afternoon i went to my doctor to get my blood test results from the day before, my hcg levels were 40,000+ so she told me not to worry and go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound. nothing happened over the next 2 weeks so i thought everything was fine, unfortunately at the next ultrasound nothing had changed, still no baby, so a missed miscarriage was confirmed and i had a d&c because my body was not recognising the miscarriage.

I wish you all the luck and hope that you're earlier than you thought.

My sac wasn't empty but they couldn't see a fetal pole or heartbeat. I am now 12 weeks with a baby and heart beat. Don't think to negative u could be earlier than u thought!!! Xx

I been googling a lot about this online and read a lot of others are going through the same thing. Most of them are earlier than they had expected. There's people saying as long as hcg level increased than everything should be fine. I'm not having any cramps or signs of a miscarriage so I'm still thinking positive and hoping I'm just early. We'll see on the next ultrasound

Not trying to scare u but be prepared to misscarry sweetheart. I went in at 7 weeks ans had an empty sac. Doc said I developed my sac but never the baby. Never the less a few days later I started bleeding. Thank goodness I was prepared for it tho.. Goodluck!

ive never heard of this, AT 7 WEEKS THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE A HEART BEAT ON MOST PEOPLE, NOT ALWAYS BUT AN EMPTY SAC IS NOT NORMAL THAT I KNOW OF, MAYBE YOU ARE ONLY 4 WEEKS, BC MY DOC TOLD ME U HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 5 WEEKS TO EVEN SEE A SAC AND THEN AT 6 WEEKS YOU SEE THE HEART BEAT
