Eptopic Pregnancy

Hello Ladies i am new here this is my first post, back in June i had a eptopic pregnacy that was treated with methotrexide (spelling), after that my first period was half normal not as much bleeding but my cycle was all screwed up so i decided to try vitex which i have in the past and it did help, me and my soon to be husband have been trying for 2 months which isnt long by any means, i love him and he loves me so we have decided to just let it happen no pressure but to have sex on the right days, around ovualtaion the most, my question is has anyone had an eptopic pregnancy and then later became pregnant and how did it go? and how long did it take to become pregnant.

thanks

i am due for my period this weekend and hoping she dont show...i have sore breast which i usually dont get with my period but being a woman with hormones i know that can happen around this time so i am not even reading into that, other thing i have noticed is lots and i mean lots of white soapy discharge, no smell or anything i am just soaking wet all the time all the sudden....

Thanks Lucky i caught my pregnancy at 4 weeks thanks to my collapsing and having lots of pain and the soon after the methotrexide my count had dropped to zero, but i had a tubal done in 2000 and a reversal in 2004 and then this year was the first time i fell pregnant since having my tubes reveresed and it wa sa tubal pregnancy which is a high risk when having this done, though i know it will happen again when its my time i just wondered how many were like me

I have been pregnant twice since my ectopic pregnancy on 8/5/07.  I did not have to have Methotrexate because it was contraindicated in my situation.  My left fallopian tube had already ruptured.  A friend of mine was given this medication for her ectopic pregnancy but it did not work and she had a salpingotomy.  This is a procedure done to clear your fallopian tube of the ectopic pregnancy and it is closed back up.  If your fallopian tube has already ruptured, which in my case it did, you undergo what is called a salpingectomy (removal of the entire fallopian tube).  So needless to say pregnancy can happen with only one tube.  I am proof of that.  Now grant it, I have no living children but it has nothing to do with the ectopic pregnancy.  I still ovulate every month because I still have both ovaries, but that right fallopian tube just works in overdrive.  I had a miscarriage in 12/15/07 due to low progesterone levels.  I was approximately 4-5 wks pregnant.  And that 2nd pregnancy post-ectopic/left salpingectomy was in February 2008.  My baby girl passed away at 24wks and 3 days due to an umbilical cord accident on 8/1/08.  This response is not to sadden you, but to let you know that you can still conceive.

Also I have never heard of discharge in the way you are describing it...white, soapy (???) Around ovulation time your discharge becomes what we call EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) which is very sperm friendly because this is the type of environment your body needs in order to get that egg fertilized.  This is what most women monitor to detect whether or not they are experiencing their fertile days or near ovulation. EWCM is there to nourish and help transport sperm through the cervix by becoming more abundant, stretchy, and closer to the consistency of raw egg white.  It looks just like raw egg whites.

Also in pregnancy you tend to be "wet all the time" as you mentioned.  It is called leukorrhea in this case; however, it looks clear or milky in color. In pregnancy due to the increased blood flow to the vaginal area and the increase in pregnancy hormones, like estrogen, you may notice more of this discharge. It is odorless.

I would recommend however that you ask your doctor to order a hysterosalpingogram (HSG).  You might want to make sure your tubes are free of blockage to avoid another ectopic pregnancy, because when you have one ectopic pregnancy, your risk to have another increases.  I had one (an HSG) done in 9/07.  I asked for it.  Your MD will not automatically suggest it, you must be proactive.  A hysterosalpingogram is an Xray done where a catheter is placed in the internal os of your cervix and advanced to your uterus.  Then there is a contrast dye injected through the catheter.  This allows the radiologist to see the patency of your tubes and the morphology of your reproductive organs.  They can see if you have an abnormally shaped uterus, such as a bicornuate uterus, and more importantly if there are any blockages in your fallopian tubes.  This is possible because if the dye does not spill out of the end of your fallopian tube, there is blockage there.  Some women say that getting an HSG actually helped them because if the blockage is minimal sometimes the dye can clear the minor blockage for you. I know this is alot of information so I will stop here and let you do your research.

I just wanted to share this...

my cousin had an ectopic pregnancy in December... Toward the begining of February she got pregnant and is having a healthy baby boy next month. The doctors even said she had a 5% chance of getting pregnant, and she's been pregnant TWICE already! She wasn't trying either. She just had sex on days she felt like it and became pregnant.

It will happen for you. :) Just have fun on the days you have sex and watch, eventually you'll fall pregnant =D Good Luck. Hopefully AF won't show this weekend :)

I was trying to get pregnant back in 2001-2005 and ended up having an ectopic as well in 2005. But the methotrexide didn't work for me and my tube rupsured so I had to have my right tube removed. After that I decided not to get pregnant anytime soon. So from 2005 to 2007 I used condoms all the time.

Well twice at the end of 2007 we didn't use any condoms and what do you know I got pregnant. I had a good pregnancy and a heathy baby born Sept 7/08 (pictured)

So don't worry about pregnancy it will happen sometime just try not to stress about it. Let it happen naturally and good luck.
