thanks yall!! oh ashelen she's not crawling yet just on her knees! :P its going to be a bittersweet moment when she figures out the crawling thing. :) i think its time to invest in a play pen ;)
she's a little doll Rachel I think you've got it all figured out just fine....and now that she's crawling ( i can't believe it!!!! ) she's going to need more calories to keep up her energy, so she'll cue you as to how hungry she is :-).
how much cereal do you put in a bottle? did the dr tell you the consistency or did you ahve to figure out what she needed?
formula or breast milk should be the primary food till 1 year old and baby should be eatin this schedule
0-6 months formula or BF on demand no soldids introduced before that 9-12 bottles a day
6-9 months they should get no more then 4 tablespoons a day all together split up over no more then 2 feeds bF on demand 6-8 bottles a day
9-12 should get no more then 5 tablespoons a day all together split up over 2-3 feeds5-8 bottles a day breastfeeding on demand
Also formula should be around 32 onces a day and you ahve to count the cereal in the formula for her food.
Breast feed babies do not ahve to eat any food other then BM for the first year of life
I was told that if the food makes baby eat even one less bottle a day with in a week then they are eating too much. I was also taught that baby should eat food one 1/2 hour after being BF or one hour after taking a bottle so they do not eat too much.
A baby my sister sits for had gerd also and took cereal in his bottles, at 9 months he had digestive problems form it and was also eating breakfest lunch and dinner along with cereal in his bottles, He damaged his colon and digestive tract and the dr after the fact, a gastro, told her that he was not to eat any other food till 15 months if he still was eating cereal in his bottles as the grains were harder on the belly with less nutrients and he still needed the milk to make up for it. did I say that so it was understandable? I am super tired but think it came out right:) SOrry been cleaning all day in case the power goes off, we already ahve more then a foot of snow!
WHen we are born we are meant to drink milk and milk only, the older we get we get more and mroe lactose intolerant that is why the elderly can not digest milk products. Milk is babies sole and primary need at this point.
ooh shes long.. she was actually in the 80-85th for length although i dont remember exactly what her length was. and the 75th for weight. so shes doing pretty good i think. but thats a good point i think she is getting less formula sometimes cause she is a little full from the fruits. thanks!!
http://www.justmommies.com/articles/infants_growth_calculator.shtml
how tall is she? try using that calculator I've found it to be fairly accurate...her weight and length TOGETHER are very important, because some babies could weigh 16lbs and it would be HUGE if they were short but some could weigh 16 and it would be teeny because they're so long.
I agree 100% with Julia..formula first. remember that Ariana's nutrition comes from her bottle still, not the foods she eats..,her body is actually incapable of processing bio-ready sources of nutrition from food to the point of being able to get adequate vitamins and minerals from "solid" foods at this point...that kicks in around 10-14 months...so her bottle is where you want to pay attention to nutrients :-).
okay... so shes doing fine =)
Just make sure its formula first, then after burps give her a few tbspns of fruits/veges.
Bc she eats less formula if its fruit/vege first.
sorry 16 lbs 15 oz. idk whats wrong with me today
well at birth she was 6 lbs 14 oz. last time we went to the doc at 6 months she was 16 lbs 14 oz. but that was before fruits & veggies was a regular thing.
How much is she gaining. You shouldnt go by how much she SHOULD be eating. Every baby is different. Some eat like little piggies some eat just to tone down their hunger.
How much was she at birth, how old is she now/how much does she weigh?
putting 3 pm in there twice was a mistake, sorry!! its wakeup, 3 pm, 7 pm, 11 pm
