Failed glucose test?!

I did my one hour glucose test today, and failed my sugars were super high. I'm extremely embarrassed and blaming myself. But I also didn't fast the night before, I work late shifts so I come home and eat very late. Has anyone else failed the test? What happened with the three hour? Did you actually have gd?

I failed both and had to check my blood four times a day and got put on a diet and my baby came out perfectly fine weighting 6lbs 10 oz

U don't have to fast but u should eat something that doesn't have sugar  in it like eggs and toast

Same thing happened to me. Went in and didn't realize we were doing the one hour and ate a donut before the test and failed (179) sent me for the 3 hour and I was fine until the end when my sugar crashed and I felt like death. I ended up passing thank goodness...here are some tips to help with the 3 hour...they want you to fast the night before starting at midnight so eat something with protein as late as you can (before midnight) I did wheat toast with chunky peanut butter. Some places make you make an appt to go in to test so make it as early as possible. I was there for 6:30 am. They draw your fasting blood then give you the sugar drink...you have your blood drawn 3 more times 1 hour apart. You have to sit there and wait so bring something to entertain you. You can't drink water or anything once test is started. I would suggest bring someone to drive you because I nearly passed out on the way home. Also bring a snack in your purse and devour it right when they do your last blood draw. Try to eat a good protein meal after. Best wishes! A lot of people fail 1 hour and pass 3 hour if that helps ease your mind :)

You don't have to fast. You just follow your normal routine.

I failed the one hour test too since I was told I didn't have to fast. With the three hour I fast and the results came back normal. I'm sure you'll pass the second test.
