First Ultrasound question

It has currently been 8 weeks since my last period (April 29th). I got a positive ovulation predictor test on May 15th, 17 days after my last period. I went for my first ultrasound thinking I was almost 8 weeks pregnant. The ultrasound tech said everything looked good, everything was there and were it should be, and we heard the heartbeat but she said she though our dates were off. She said I looked to be more like 6 weeks than 8 weeks. I just don't understand how I could be 2 weeks earlier than what I thought when I know when I ovulated. The only thing I could think of is that I had what I thought were period cramps about 14 days after I ovulated then took a positive test 4 days after. Is it possible I implanted that late and if so would that have an affect on how far along I am?

Early measurements are the most accurate. And yes, it's definitely possible to be 1-2 weeks "off". Because it's impossible to say exactly when someone did ovulate and conceive I'd trust the sonogram measurements. Congrats on your little bean!

It is very possible that you did not have implantation until then. Its hard to tellreally when its that early in pregnancy. I would think they would have a more accurate number of how far along you are in a couple more weeks.
