Gender Complications

I am 20 weeks and have just had a scan to find out the gender. The lady who was doing the scan was a right old b*tch. When i asked her if she could see the gender, she replied that she could. I then asked he what ir was and she replied that she wasnt going to tell me. I asked for her reason and it was because she believed i should wait until birth. I was very upset as i had been in the process of planning a gender reveal party and my next ultrasound isnt until 30-32 weeks pregnant. Is there anyone who has had the same problem or someone at the hospital i could speak too.

It sounds like you're British?  I don't know how the health care system works there,  and whether you have a right to switch technicians or you just have to suck it up and take what you get.  What can you do to complain?

What the hell!!! I've never heard of anything like that. That isn't her decision to make. Call your doctor and complain about that. And they should definitely reschedule another ultrasound sooner than that. That is some bull.

I would call and complain and ask if you could have a different technician next time. And as for her not wanting to tell you as her personal beliefs are you shouldn't know till birth are rubbish. It's not her job to decide who does and who doesn't get the information from there scan she is there to do her job and answer any questions you have to the best of her abilities. even if it is not what she would have chosen. Also like some one else mentioned the 4d scans are good I did them with both my pregnancies. I do hope you get to the bottom of this and you don't have to see her again x

It's also possible it's in the file, ask your doctor and tell your doctor what the lady did... it's really not her right to tell you what you should know or not...
