Gestational Sac but no Yolk Sac or fetal pole and way behind?

My LMP was 4/30/12 and we met with the fertility specialist on 5/29 to start clomid. However we were already pregnant so we started regular prenatal care. Because I have Hashimoto's Disease and we miscarried 12/11 they are keeping a very close on this pregnancy. My hcg levels are iffy. They aren't doubling but definitley increasing nicely. We had our first ultrasound and based my my LMP I should have been 6w 1d but the sac was only measuring 4w 1d. Dr wanted to check again in 5 days. At which point the baby was only measuring 4w 2d but there was a yolk sac forming but the sac also had a hemorrhage and there was a hemorrhagic cyst on my left ovary. That was 6 days ago. The dr said we had a 90% change of miscarriage. Well for the past 3 days I have been having really bad cramping with NO bleeding. But the dr sent me in to the hospital to check it out anyway to make sure it wasn't ectopic. So after the us I waited to talk to the dr and she said that the sac only grew 1 mm and there was no ectopic possibility and the yolk sac wasn't present in this us. She said because the equipment they use is not as up to date as what they use in the office she couldn't tell me the week and day measurement. But she did say that there was no fetal pole so she thinks its not a viable pregnancy. I am soooo confused. She said its just a waiting game, which I understand. She said we should have another ultrasound at the end of this week but I sit and wait confused and scared. Not sure what to do or think. Help?

So at my ultrasound with my ob, I was pretty much still left in the dark. It barely grew but there was a big yolk sac popping out at us but still NO fetal pole. I asked that they rechecked my hcg and this time to progesterone. So I had my blood work done and then went to my second opinion ob appointment and we talked for a while. He was soo nice and patient. He explained everything to me. The dr asked if I wanted another ultrasound and I said sure. So the dr explained everything during the ultrasound and then said finally showed us the fetal pole and he printed us pictures. Of course we decided to switch obs. I got a call about an hour later from my original ob that my blood work came back and my hcg is now 6852 but my progesterone was only 6.05. I called my new ob to give him the news and he said that will definitely cause slow growth. So he started me on progesterone.  So glad we finally have answers. Our next ob appointment is 7/12 for another ultrasound.

well seem to be rising ok as they do only have to rise by 60% for it to be considered a viable pregnancy which yours were doing, the only thing you can do now is to wait for the next u/s and hopfully you will get a more difinitive answer as to what is happening with this pregnancy, good luck

Does that sound about right for a blighted ovum? I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and my pregnancy with them were great, besides nausea and vomiting the entire time. This one I have some symptoms but not a lot. I am peeing all the time, my nipples are super sensitive, and I am eating a lot more. Also cramping primarily on the left side. But really no nausea or vomiting.

This sounds to me like you may possibly have a blighted ovum, this is when an egg gets fertalised and implants but no baby develops, the hcg level doesnt double, the placenta can still develop, and thats what can keep the pregnancy going, also the pregnancy symptoms as well, alot of the times they're not picked up until around the 12th wk of pregnancy when a scan shows just a sack etc, I would prepare yourself for the not so good outcome as it doesnt sound too promising, I had one of these last nov, and had really bad cramping on and off for two weeks then finally started bleeding, its wise to have the other u/s just to confirm everything, I'm sorry that your going through this, the waiting I think is the hardest part, things like this seem to be easier to deal with once you know whats going on, good luck
