Are you talking about a Pap test?? Well....it's kind of like a vaginal ultrasound I guess you could say. It doesn't last as long though. Basically they just take this little plastic thing and go into your vagina and up into your cervix to scrape some cells and they will take a quick look. It's a little uncomfortable and for some women a little painful. For me, it was just weird uncomfortable pressure. But it only last for a minute. Hope this helps. Good luck!!
Checking for dilation involves the doctor inseting his fingers, finding your cervix and moving the opening around just enough to get an idea for how dilated you are. For me, the most pain comes from when he is looking for the cervix (cervixes move). But it is nothing worse than some menstrual-like cramping on an average day for me.
