Has anyone had a transvaginal Ultrasound???

I am 6 weeks pregnant and I have to have a trans vaginal ultrasound. Has anyone had this done? I am just curious about how this procedure is preformed. Anything is helpful!!! Thanks.

The doctor i am seeing is quite a big fan of these types of ultrasounds. she likes to do one every other day until she finds a heartbeat. i had 3 trans vaginal ultrasounds before i was even 5 weeks along. they aren't as bad as some may say. i was too busy watching the screen to even think about it. good luck with your pregnancy!

I had one for my first 3 Ultrasound at 5wk, 6wks & 7wks. It didnt hurt or anything at all. I barely noticed it..I was too busy watching the screen but my dr said they do them for early pregnancy to get a better look..They also can see your ovaries & everything that way too.

I had one, it was weird at first because she had me insert it, but everything was covered and after that you don't really think about it, early ultrasounds are usually done trans vaginal for better pictures.

I had one with each of my pregnancies. They are no big deal at all. Honestly you will be too busy looking at your little peanut to even notice what is going on. Congrats and have a happy and healthy pregnancy. =o)

Transvaginal u/s are a procedure where a wand is inserted inside you, like when you get an annual exam. They do not hurt. At 6 weeks, transvaginal ones are done bc better pictures can be taken being its so early on.
