how accurate was it????

ok girls i went for my 12 wks scan today! was great to see bubby moving around heart beat was 162 bpm
after alot of me pestering them the trainee said she couldnt see the sex as cord was between legs then asked a more senior dr to have a guess and she said she thinks a boy but not to go and decorate the nursery blue! after much of me pestering again she said shes about 60% sure its a boy but that its ahard to tell at this stage as they look the same but she thought she could see a 60degree angle that means a boy as in girls its flat towards their backs,
so my question is :
is it a boy?
would you go by what they said today or not?

As with all things in life, things are a mystery, even life. I agree with nutz and mumita. Even though we can sometimes b so excited and cant wait, its better that we do wait. Babies can grow faster than expected and some can grow slower than expected and that can change your due dates, and some babies gender areas can grow slower and faster than other babies.  With that being said, I hope you get what you want, and that the NEXT U/S shows you what youve been waiting for:)

I didnt get a NT and didnt want one and will just take what god gives me, BUT i am excited about the anatomy scan that i will be having at 18 or 20 weeks and hope to find out what i am having if baby cooperates.

I know that you can't wait until the 16-20week ultrasound to know the sex of your baby, it's tough to wait that long.  I mean you've already carried your baby for 12weeks, which is frsterating!  However, I think that you should wait until your next apt to see what you're having.  I mean it is really early to tell and the ultrasound tech could have been wrong.

I agree with Mumita!

It's so hard. I know you want to know like right now! But my nephew was supposed to be a girl and was born a boy because the technician was wrong. So I'd definitely get another ultrasound.

I don't think that the whole angle thing is accurate and I also don't think that it could be accurate to tell what the sex is this early.  You will get another u/s in a few weeks that you will be able to tell 100%.
The baby is just too tiny and not fully developed yet to know the sex. the baby wil grow a few more inches by the time you are 18 weeks and you'll be able to tell.
Hang on.
I think the u/s is very accurate on the dates, but if you know when you Ovulated then go by that date.

I'd lean more towards boy, but I wouldn't be convinced until 16 weeks! Good luck dear.
