The fact you say you were on the injection, i'm taking this to be depo-provera, i think your in for a long wait.  I was on depo 2 and a half years and have now been off of it the same length of time and have yet to conceive and i blame this contraception 100% for not having conceived.  My partner and i have been for tests and all have come back clear, we are now on the IVF waiting list which is up to a 3 year wait.

I'm from Scotland and all my tests were free, however in the UK a doctor won't do any fertility tests on you until you have been ttc for at least 2 years because they state you have only tried 12 times in 1 year as we only ovulate once a month.

Are you tracking your ovulation?  do you have a regular cycle?  I was told by my doc to ttc at least 3 days every week in a full month to increase your chances of conceiving.

I wish you loads of luck, but try not to stress an have as much fun ttc as you can, i know how hard it gets when you never seem to see that BFP

Hun thats a load of rubbish, here in the uk we have a NHS ervice, which entiltes us all to free medical treatment, the tests are free.its the treatment that you would have to pay for if you are indeed infertile.believe me we had treatment tests for many many years.and the tests you dont pay for.

Have a look at fertility friend.or ovusoft, they offer free charting very good, all you need to do is put in your temp every day,it does it all for you.are your cycles regular.cm is an indicater as previous poster said, however not all women get that,so by charting and using test sticks, this will help a great deal.

When you chart, what have you tried?  Women chart the Body temp and sometimes there cervical mucus or even Ovulation Predictor Kits.

If you use the Body Temp method, you need to take your temp every day before you get out of bed, and wright down the numbers, usually if your temp starts to go up that's when your ovulating.  If you mark down your temp every day on one of the trackers on this site, you can always ask someone for more specific advice on how to read it once a cycle has passed.  If you take your temp once you get out of bed, etc it won't work because your temp could change.  From what i heard it takes some women 1-2 cycles to understand there numbers.

If you chart your Cervical mucus when you get an Egg White Cervical Mucus, usually that means Ovulation is here/around the corner.  For many women they get that about two days before they Ovulate and keep it for a few days after.  If you ever notice this that's the time to BD.  Also, some women will drink grapefruit juice to help increase there chances of the EWCM, as some women don't get much of it.  Also, once you can pinpoint when you ovulate, if you don't have EWCM there is some jelly that can help with the sperm and increase your chances, I never used it so I'm not sure of the name.

If you use an OPK, There somewhat straight foreword from what I heard, some have a smiley face when you are ovulating.  Usually what women do when using this method is look at the average length of your cycle and only test a range of days when it could be possible to ovulate.  On average women ovulate 14 days before there period starts.  It is probably anywhere between 10-16 days.  So, take your cycle length, and subtract 16 days, and that's about when you might want to start testing.  I heard a lot of women start testing on Cycle day 10.

The most important part is to learn your body and your cycle, it's common for women to take a year or longer to get pregnant, but if you know your cycle you can increase your chances!

Good Luck!

The doctors said they cant do any tests on me. If they do i will have to pay a lot of money. I come off the injection just over a year ago. I have tried so many things i have stopped smoking, tried tablets i have tried certain postions and still nothing is working. i dont understand ovulating i tried doing a chart but like i said i dont understand how it works.

I see your from the uk like myself, after 12 months of trying you should talk to your gp about it,they can run some basic tests on you both.you can also pay to have your partners semen analized,to show if sperm count is good.but in all honestly can take couple a long time to concieve,to start with are you keeping track of your cycle, for ovulation etc.these will be questions doctors will ask you.
