High temperature..

I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant and as stated in another thread I have been suffering with an excrutiating sore throat, ear ache, headache, faintness, hot and cold flushes and sickness since Thurs. I had tried bed rest and paracetamol with no change or ease of symptoms..infact was getting worse day by day. So went to an out of hours doctor's today, I'd taken paracetamol which had taken my temperature down, I felt fine temp wise, and it obviously didn't come up as a temperature when he took it. I was diagnosed with tonsillitis which I have been prescribed penicillin for, however I've taken paracetamol too (Doc said this was fine) and Im still burning up, Im boiling to the touch,is there anything else I can do to bring my temperature down asmy Doc said this could harm the baby. I know i've got the temp because my body is fighting the infection but I don't want  to harm my baby nor do I want to overdose on paracetamol.??

Ahh thanks guys, after about an hour of being boiling the antibiotics and paracetamol kicked in and felt much better!!

Cool cloths! Better to treat the infection than to do nothing at all!

Just don't over heat your body with too many clothes, try keeping a cool washcloth on your forehead, take cool to luke warm baths but not cold, maybe reducing the heat in your home for a little while.  If your temp stays high for too long ti would be best to go to an emergency room.

Hi hope u get better soon. The antibiotics should start working soon but maybe a warm shower or bath could help your temp. Just not cold as you don't want to that sudden temp drop good luck
